Full Description

A field system of medieval to post medieval date on the southwest side of Woolland is visible as banked and ditched earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features comprise linear and curvilinear field boundaries and possibly trackways, with some traces of possible ridge and furrow cultivation visible on lidar (EA 2018). The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
