Full Description
Banked linear features are visible as earthworks to the northwest of the deserted medieval settlement of Chitcombe on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The features are considered to be part of a medieval field system, incorporating areas of medieval strip field, although some later field boundaries might also be present. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
