Full Description
The remains of a highly fragmented banked field system are visible as very low earthworks on lidar imagery in multiple fields to the west of Chescombe Lane, Milton Abbas. The system is considered likely to be of Iron Age or Roman origin although traces of potential strip fields may indicate reuse in the medieval period. The features cover an area of over 55 ha and continue to the south in MDO50537; they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
