Summary

Fragments of a banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in fields to the east of Chescombe Lane, Winterborne Whitechurch.The features are possibly the remains of medieval strip fields however some of the boundaries are likely to have earlier prehistoric origin. The features cover an area of over 31 ha and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

Fragments of a banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in fields to the east of Chescombe Lane, Winterborne Whitechurch.The features are possibly the remains of medieval strip fields however some of the boundaries are likely to have earlier prehistoric origin.
