Summary

A banked field boundary to the east of Cuckoo Lane Wood, Hilton, is visible as a cropmark and earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is probably of medieval to post medieval date but could possibly be of earlier origin. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A banked field boundary to the east of Cuckoo Lane Wood, Hilton, is visible as a cropmark and earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The feature is probably of medieval to post medieval date but could possibly be of earlier origin. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
