Summary

A probable Bronze Age round barrow visible as a cropmark on an aerial photograph. The site comprises a well defined ring ditch with a diameter of about 40 ft. Much reduced by ploughing, though visible as a ring-ditch on aerial photographs. The feature is visible as a cropmark on a 1947 aerial photograph and was digitally plotted from this source during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A round barrow at ST 93250983 has been levelled by ploughing but is visible on the air photograph (a) as a well defined ring ditch with a diameter of about 40 ft. <1, 2>

Unfortunately the aerial photograph listed as source <2> cannot be traced and the site is not visible on any other available photograph. <3>

The feature is visible as a cropmark on a 1947 aerial photograph and was digitally plotted from this source during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project [5].
