Monument record MDO50435 - Possible post medieval chalk pits, Hilton

Two possible post medieval chalk pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks to the south of Rawlsbury Wood, Hilton, on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are within an area of possible medieval ridge and furrow and could alternatively be pockets of soft ground resulting from this. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The features are within an area of possible medieval ridge and furrow and could alternatively be pockets of soft ground resulting from this. The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
