A post medieval chalk pit is visible as a ditched earthwork to the northeast of The Launch, Woolland, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The feature is shown as a chalk pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
