Two possible post medieval chalk pits are visible as ditched earthworks on the east side of Laywood, Woolland, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
