Full Description
The northeast and north sides of Delcombe Wood, Milton Abbas, contain extensive areas of disturbed ground containing some deeper pockets, visible as shallow ditched earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are within or border clay with flints geology and several flint and chalk pits are recorded in the vicinity. The features might be either post medieval chalk or flint extractive pits and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
