Summary

A loose spread of post medieval extractive pits within a wider area of disturbed ground are visible as shallow ditched earthworks on Bulbarrow Down, Stoke Wake, on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are off the adjacent clay with flints geology and might be chalk pits of post medieval origin, or alternatively stray flint pits. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A loose spread of post medieval extractive pits within a wider area of disturbed ground are visible as shallow ditched earthworks on Bulbarrow Down, Stoke Wake, on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are off the adjacent clay with flints geology and might be chalk pits of post medieval origin, or alternatively stray flint pits. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
