Full Description
A loose spread of post medieval extractive pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks in Cuckoo Lane Wood, Hilton, on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are on or border clay with flints geology and might be flint or chalk pits of post medieval origin. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
