Two post medieval extractive pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks on the south side of Woolland Hill, Woolland, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The features might be chalk pits of post medieval origin and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
