Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a ditched earthwork on the north side of Woolland Hill, Woolland, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The feature borders clay with flints geology and several flint pits and chalk pits are recorded in the close vicinity. The feature is also considered likely to be either a flint or chalk pit of post medieval origin and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
