Full Description
Three possible post medieval extractive pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks on Woolland Hill, Woolland, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features border clay with flints geology and several flint pits and chalk pits are recorded in the close vicinity. The features might also be either flint or chalk pits of post medieval origin and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
