Full Description
A loose spread of post medieval extractive pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks within Col Combe and Bottom Ground, Winterborne Houghton, on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are on or border clay with flints geology and several flint pits and chalk pits are recorded in the vicinity. This grouping are also considered likely to be either flint or chalk pits of post medieval origin and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
