Full Description
Fragments of a banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery under trees on Whatcombe Common, Winterborne Whitechurch. The boundaries are considered likely to be of Iron Age or Roman origin and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The system covers an area of over 15 ha and continues to the north into Whatcombe Wood described in MDO50370, to the west into Milton Park Wood described in MDO50403, and to the south into Cliff Wood described in MDO50404.
