Monument record MDO50352 - Possible post medieval flint or chalk pits, Ibberton

A cluster of post medieval extractive pits are visible as shallow ditched earthworks on Aplin's Heath Hill, Ibberton, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are close to features recorded as old flint pits on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map and could also be post medieval flint pits, or alternatively chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The features are close to features recorded as old flint pits on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map (OS c1880) and could also be post medieval flint pits, or alternatively chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
