A post medieval gravel pit is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork to the southwest of Turnworth Wood, Turnworth, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as a gravel pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
