A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork on Bell Hill, Okeford Fitzpaine, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
