The remains of a banked field system of probable Iron Age or Roman date are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within, and in the fields adjacent to, Fern Wood, on the northern edge of Nordon Hill, Hilton. The features cover an area of over 18 hectares; they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The remains of a banked field system of probable Iron Age or Roman date are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within, and in the fields adjacent to, Fern Wood, Hilton.
