Summary

Parallel banked linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the south and west of Aller, Hilton. They are considered likely to be the remains of medieval strip fields and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. Some of the features have since been plough-levelled.

Full Description

Parallel banked linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the south and west of Aller, Hilton. They are considered likely to be the remains of medieval strip fields and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. Some of the features have since been plough-levelled.( RAF 1947, EA 2023).
