Monument record MDO50043 - Possible medieval ridge and furrow, Okeford Fitzpaine

Areas of ridge and furrow cultivation of possible medieval date are visible as earthworks on Okeford Hill on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features appear to respect field plots forming part of a later prehistoric field system (MDO50044), although some of the banked and ditched boundaries in this area might alternatively be contemporary with the ridge and furrow cultivation. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The features appear to respect field plots forming part of a later prehistoric field system (MDO50044), although some of the banked and ditched boundaries in this area might alternatively be contemporary with the ridge and furrow cultivation. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
