Full Description
Part of a possible medieval or early post medieval field system to the west of Turnworth House, Turnworth, is faintly visible as low earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features comprise linear plots defined by banked linear boundaries, with a faint suggestion of ridged cultivation in between these, truncated by a trackway shown on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch c1880 map (OS c1880). They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
Royal Air Force, 17-JAN-1947, RAF/CPE/UK/1934 RS 4169 (Aerial Photograph). SDO21600.
Environment Agency, xx-xxx-2018, Environment Agency National Lidar Programme DTM 1M (Aerial Photograph). SDO21483.
