Summary

A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a sub-circular ditched earthwork on the southeast edge of Stickland Wood on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as an old 'flint' pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a sub-circular ditched earthwork on the southeast edge of Stickland Wood on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The feature is recorded as an old 'flint' pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880 (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
