Monument record MDO49988 - Post medieval gravel pit, Winterborne Stickland

A post medieval gravel pit is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork on the southeast edge of Stickland Wood on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as an old gravel pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
