Full Description
A post medieval gravel pit is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork on the southeast edge of Stickland Wood on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The feature is recorded as an old gravel pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880 (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
