Monument record MDO49980 - Post medieval gravel pit, Turnworth

A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork to the south of Turnworth Wood on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as an old gravel pit on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
