Summary

A series of parallel cultivation marks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1995 in a single small field to the north of Breach Wood, Hilton. The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project, they are considered likely to be the remains of medieval ridge and furrow and have since been levelled.

A series of parallel cultivation marks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1995 in a single small field to the north of Breach Wood, Hilton (OS 1995). The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project, they are considered likely to be the remains of medieval ridge and furrow and have since been levelled. (EA 2023).
