Summary

A double ditched linear is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs diagonally crossing three modern fields to the north of Breach Wood, Hilton. The feature runs for 335m in a southerly direction before meeting the parish boundary between Hilton and Melcombe Horsey. It is potentially a trackway or boundary ditch of medieval or earlier date and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A double ditched linear is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs diagonally crossing three modern fields to the north of Breach Wood, Hilton. The feature runs for 335m in a southerly direction before meeting the parish boundary between Hilton and Melcombe Horsey. It is potentially a trackway or boundary ditch of medieval or earlier date and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. (GE 2002).
