Summary

A post medieval chalk pit is visible as a roughly 36m by 35m ditched earthwork to the northeast of Belchalwell Street, Okeford Fitzpaine, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Epoch 25 inch map. It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A post medieval chalk pit is visible as a roughly 36m by 35m ditched earthwork to the northeast of Belchalwell Street, Okeford Fitzpaine, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; RAF 1947; EA 2018). The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Epoch 25 inch map (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
