Full Description
A post medieval chalk pit is visible as a roughly 36m by 35m ditched earthwork to the northeast of Belchalwell Street, Okeford Fitzpaine, on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; RAF 1947; EA 2018). The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Epoch 25 inch map (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
