Full Description
Three small hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the steep west facing slope above Giants Grave, Melcombe Horsey. They are considered likely to be post medieval extractive pits (possibly for chalk) although may have an earlier origin and be associated with the field system described in MDO1711, they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.(EA 2023).
