Summary

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within a small copse situated to the north east of Nine Acre Copse, Melcombe Horsey. It is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit (possibly for chalk) and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within a small copse situated to the north east of Nine Acre Copse, Melcombe Horsey. It is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit (possibly for chalk) and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. (EA 2023).
