Full Description
An Old Chalk Pit is marked on the OS 1st edition map on the south-facing slope of Henning Hill on the parish boundary between Melcombe Horsey and Cheselbourne (OS 1885). It is one of a number of small hollows visible as as earthworks on lidar imagery (Environment Agency 2021) on the southern slopes of the hill, and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
