Full Description
A shallow sub-rectilinear hollow to the east of Hanford House is visible as an earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature is approximately 80 my north to south and between 90m and 105m east to west, with a slight dogleg at its southwest corner. It is of uncertain origin, possibly a garden terace or earlier house platform, or perhaps a 20th/21st century feature. It is contained by a modern fenced enclosure, but does not appear clearly associated with this. The feature was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
