Summary

Fragments of an extensive prehistoric field system are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on lidar imagery and aerial photographs to the east of Thorncombe Bottom, Piddletrenthide. The features are considered to be part of a wider system of fields described in MDO49791 and MDO1978, they cover an area of over 56 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Fragments of an extensive prehistoric field system are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on lidar imagery and aerial photographs to the east of Thorncombe Bottom, Piddletrenthide. The features are considered to be part of a wider system of fields described in MDO49791 and MDO1978, they cover an area of over 56 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
