Full Description
Two areas of contour aligned lynchets on the north side of Hod Hill, Stourpaine, are visible as low earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features comprise a series of regular and parallel narrow curvilinear banks and could be medieval strip lynchets. They are located on the northeast and northwest facing spurs of Hod hill, within an area of potentially earlier field boundaries and lynchets (see MDO49795) so an earlier origin for these features is possible. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
