Summary

Linear banked features to the east of Ash, Stourpaine, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features run counter to the contours on a low north facing slope and are probably field boundaries of later prehistoric date, part of a wider later prehistoric field system in this area recorded under MDO4818. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Full Description

Linear banked features to the east of Ash, Stourpaine, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features run counter to the contours on a low north facing slope and are probably field boundaries of later prehistoric date, part of a wider later prehistoric field system in this area recorded under MDO4818. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
