Full Description
Several curvilinear banked features are visible as closely set earthworks on a spur of Shillingstone Hill on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1970; EA 2018). The features might be field boundaries or the remnants of ridge and furrow cultivation of possible medieval origin. The features appear to underlie a post medieval drainage system at this location (MDO49632). They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
Royal Air Force, 06-JUL-1970, RAF/58/0598 V 97 (Aerial Photograph). SDO21503.
