Summary

A small rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Watcombe Wood, Piddletrenthide. It is 13m by 11m across, possibly with a north facing entrance. It lies within the field system described in 1977 and is considered likely to be of post medieval origin although an earlier date is possible. It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

Full Description

A rectilinear hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery at the south east end of Ball Wood, Piddletrenthide. It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project and considered likely to be the site of a post medieval chalk pit. (Enviroment Agency 2023 (1)).
