Summary

A curvilinear near right-angled ditched and banked feature is visible as an earthwork to the south of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature encloses the northwest corner of a historic field plot recorded on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch c1880s map and might be a field boundary of potentially medieval origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Full Description

A curvilinear near right-angled ditched and banked feature is visible as an earthwork to the south of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The feature encloses the northwest corner of a historic field plot recorded on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch c1880s map and might be a field boundary of potentially medieval origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The feature is largely extant on currnet lidar imagery.
