Summary

A possible post medieval extractive pit is visible as a shallow earthwork to the northeast of Child Okeford on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The bedrock geology here is sandstone and the feature is situated close to a group of post medieval sand pits to the southeast. It is considered to be a possible sand pit as well and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A possible post medieval extractive pit is visible as a shallow earthwork to the northeast of Child Okeford on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The bedrock geology here is sandstone and the feature is situated close to a group of post medieval sand pits to the southeast. It is considered to be a possible sand pit as well and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
