Summary

Two probable extractive pits are visible as earthworks to the northeast of Child Okeford on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are situated between two pits recorded as sand pits on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880 and are considered to be probable post medieval sand pits associated with these. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Two probable extractive pits are visible as earthworks to the northeast of Child Okeford on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are situated between two pits recorded as sand pits on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880 and are considered to be probable post medieval sand pits associated with these. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
