A post medieval sand pit is visible as an earthwork to the northeast of Child Okeford on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature is recorded as an old sand pit on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 25 inch map of c1880 (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
