Summary

A series of parallel linear features are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Nettlecombe Farm, Hog Hill, Melcombe Horsey. They are considered likely to be the remains of a medieval strip field system and partially overlie the prehistoric field system described in MDO43356. The features cover an area of 3.8 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A series of parallel linear features are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Nettlecombe Farm, Hog Hill, Melcombe Horsey. They are considered likely to be the remains of a medieval strip field system and partially overlie the prehistoric field system described in MDO43356.
