A post medieval sand pit is visible as an earthwork to the north of Hambledon Hill, Iwerne Courtney or Shroton, on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). It is shown as a sand pit on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 25 inch map of 1885 (OS c1880). The feature was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
