A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork to the south of Okeford Fitzpaine on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature is documented as a chalk pit on the OS 1st Epoch map of c1880 (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
