A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on the southeast side of Okeford Fitzpaine on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature is documented as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Epoch map of c1880 (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
