Full Description
Areas of ridge and furrow cultivation interspersed by linear banked field boundaries are visible as earthworks to the north of Hanford on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features cover an area of around 3.5 hectares and probably form part of a former medieval field system, possibly an area of former strip fields, which might be associated with the deserted medieval settlement at Hanford (MDO3924) adjacnet to the west. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
