Full Description
Areas of ridge and furrow cultivation are visible as earthworks to the southwest of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features correspond with linear banked earthworks, probably contemporary field boundaries. The features continue a row of narrow linear historic field plots shown on the OS Epoch 1 map and probably form part of an area of former medieval strip field. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
