Monument record MDO49539 - Medieval ridge and furrow, strip field, Child Okeford

Areas of ridge and furrow cultivation are visible as earthworks to the southwest of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features correspond with linear banked earthworks, probably contemporary field boundaries. The features continue a row of narrow linear historic field plots shown on the OS Epoch 1 map and probably form part of an area of former medieval strip field. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
