Full Description
Two areas of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation are visible as linear banked earthworks to the north of Bere Marsh Farm, Shillingstone, on 1940s aerial photographs (RAF 1947). Now divided by the railway line, these two areas probably once formed part of the same historic field. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The features are no longer visible on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018).
Royal Air Force, 23-JAN-1947, RAF/CPE/UK/1944 RP 3332 (Aerial Photograph). SDO21500.
